Hutt Valley Fencing Club gives thanks

E-mail Print PDF

Hutt Valley Fencing Club would like to congratulate and thank the FenCen committee for the work they have done this year.  We would especially like to acknowledge the role that Baz has played in this.  Baz has been an exceptional leader.  FenCen Committee roles are clearly established and every request we have made has been dealt with to our utmost satisfaction.   As a leader Baz has given everyone the opportunity to shine in their role and he has impressed in his.  We look forward to another fruitful year working with the FenCen committee.

We understand that Tony Culliford has done a lot of “background” work and we would like to acknowledge that.  We would also like to acknowledge the huge amount of work undertaken by Jeremy (Jezza) and we wish him well when he moves to Christchurch to continue his studies.  Thanks to all the committee for what they have done for the 2011 fencing year.

Our thanks to Pelorus Trust and The Lion Foundation * Grants Approved *

E-mail Print PDF

Many of you know that the 40 year old piste’s in Wellington are most likely the worst in New Zealand and Fencing Central President Bryan Clark has made it his personal mission this year to get these replaced as soon as possible that so that the fencers today, tomorrow and in 20 year’s time will have equipment to use.

Fencing Central would like to thank both the Pelorus Trust and The Lion Foundation for their very generous grants.  Both organizations have granted us $9,000.00 each for a total of $18,000.00 towards the replacement of our piste’s.

Without this support from these fine organizations the purchasing of new piste’s would not have at all been possible in the foreseeable future.

Bryan Clark would also like to thank Ken Drayton for the hard work he has put into the grant process on our behalf, without him we would still be struggling to get the grants together.

There are still some grant applications out there so fingers crossed we receive those as well.

The final goal is for almost $36,000.00 and we are already halfway there!  This amount will see us with 5 brand new copper/bronze fencing piste’s and a new aluminum piste for finals for the Fencing Central Region!

Again, my thanks to both the Pelorus Trust and The Lion Foundation.

Regards

Bryan Clark (Fencing Central President)
